COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course combines the perfect balance of theory with practical presentation techniques over 1 day resulting in a comprehensive training course giving participants the skills required to deliver effective presentations in a clear, concise and confident manner.

This is a 1 Day programme. 

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will help the participant understand presentation techniques and how to effectively use various “spices” to enhance their presentation. A practical hands-on approach is taken, allowing participants to practice and deliver their presentations a number of times throughout the day.  At the end of the day each participant’s presentation is recorded and feedback will be offered.

 WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Anyone who would like to improve their Presentation Skills – previous experience is not a pre-requisite.

PRE-REQUISITES

Participants should come to the course with a presentation topic in mind.  When choosing your topic, bear in mind that initially you will build your presentation around your chosen topic and deliver it at the end of day one.  Therefore, it should be a topic that you are familiar with and one that you would be comfortable speaking on.  It can, but does not have to be work related.

The duration of your presentation will be approximately 5 minutes

Practical – Define Objectives, gather content and structure and spice your presentation

STAGE TWO – PREPARING YOURSELF

  • Face the Fear
  • Manage your environment
  • Avoid Techno-Terrors
  • Rehearsing
  • Some practical advice

Practical – Deliver your presentation on a 1-1 basis (Run-through)

STAGE THREE – DELIVERING THE PRESENTATION

  • What has the most impact?
  • Body Language & Eye Contact
  • Using your voice
  • Handling Q & A Sessions
  • Dealing with Difficult Audiences
  • Delivery habits to avoid

Practical – Deliver your presentation. This will be recorded and written feedback will be offered.  You will have time to evaluate your own performance privately.

Training Cancellation Policy: Training courses which are cancelled over 7 days in advance of scheduled training date shall incur no cancellation fee. Training courses which are cancelled within 7 days of scheduled training date shall incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the cost. Registrants who give less than 24 hours notice or fail to attend training will be charged 100% of the full fee.
