Don’t Rely on your IQ – think EQ

In the early 1990’s Daniel Goleman argued that IQ alone was not an accurate predictor of success.  Goleman tried to represent this idea by making a distinction between emotional intelligence (EI) and emotional competence (IQ). This session will allow participants to gain an understanding of EI and the capability to develop social and emotional skills which is of vital importance in today’s world

  • Defining EQ – the difference between EI and IQ
  • Gaining an awareness of personal levels of emotional intelligence
  • Traits of people who are emotionally intelligent
  • Understanding the impact of emotions on behaviour
  • Triggers and emotional responses
  • Common misconceptions of emotional intelligence
