Performance Appraisals provide an opportunity to review and discuss performance against last year’s objectives, agree the objectives for the coming year; review competencies required and create a development plan for the coming year. It is about discussing, acknowledging and showing recognition for performance and achievements along with discussing areas of improvement and development. When appraisals are managed and conducted well they become motivating for the staff member. This programme is designed to give the participants the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes required to effectively prepare and conduct staff appraisals.
By the end of the programme you will
Recognise the benefits of preparing for and conducting motivating appraisals to guide progress, increase productivity and employee satisfaction
Be able to discuss key success factors and how to achieve them
Know how to prepare for appraisal meetings effectively and manage the conversation
Have practiced the necessary skills for conducting effective appraisals and developed your action plan
The programme will be highly participative and include discussions, exercises and practice to address the objectives. The participants will be encouraged to interact and discuss the relevant areas to ensure that knowledge and skills are developed.
